The product has a copper tubular body with an outside diameter D of 38 mm, an inside diameter d of 30 mm and an overall length L of 150 mm.

Where two conductor ends must be joined along the same axis, the GT-500 copper connecting tube provides a straight tubular connection point for a suitable crimping process. According to the supplied catalog, the GT-500 has a 38 mm outside diameter, a 30 mm inside diameter and a total length of 150 mm. These dimensions must be checked against the actual conductor, crimping die and installation requirements before the product is used.
What is the GT-500 copper connecting tube used for?
The GT-500 belongs to the group of passing-through copper jointing tubes. Unlike a bolted cable lug, which has a palm and bolt hole for connection to a busbar or equipment terminal, this product has a straight tubular construction. It is intended for joining two conductor ends in line rather than terminating a cable onto a bolt.
During installation, one conductor end is inserted from each side of the tube. The connection is then formed with a compatible crimping tool and die according to the approved installation procedure. The completed connection depends not only on the tube itself but also on correct product selection, conductor preparation, die compatibility and proper workmanship.
The catalog identifies the product by model and dimensions D, d and L. The GT-500 model designation should not be treated as the actual core diameter. A conductor's nominal cross-sectional area and its measured core diameter are different parameters and must be checked separately.
