GT-150 copper connecting tube

GT-150 copper connecting tube is a straight, pass-through connector designed to join two compatible copper cable ends by crimping. According to the dimensional table, the connector has a 22mm outer diameter, a 17mm inner diameter and an overall length of 94mm.
Before selection, compare the actual conductor diameter with the 17mm internal bore instead of treating the nominal cable cross-section as the conductor diameter. The conductor material, connector condition, crimping tool and die compatibility should also be checked before installation. When two sections of cable must be joined along the same route, the GT-150 copper connecting tube provides a straight connection without the palm or bolt hole found on a cable lug. It belongs to the GT Copper Connecting Tube pass-through range, allowing cable ends to be inserted from opposite sides before being secured with a compatible crimping system.
The GT-150 row in the supplied dimensional table specifies an outer diameter of 22mm, an inner diameter of 17mm and an overall length of 94mm. These dimensions should be checked when selecting the cable, planning the joint location and preparing the required tools. The nominal cable cross-section must not be treated as the actual conductor diameter.
What is the GT-150 copper connecting tube used for?
GT-150 is intended to create a straight crimped joint between two compatible copper conductors. Each cable end is inserted into one side of the tube, and the connection is then completed using suitable crimping equipment.
This design is commonly considered where a cable needs to be extended, a damaged section needs to be replaced or a straight cable joint is required within an approved installation arrangement.
The product should not be confused with a bolted cable lug. A bolted lug normally includes a barrel for the cable and a palm with a fixing hole for connection to a busbar, terminal or electrical device. GT-150 is a straight connecting tube without a lug palm or bolt hole.

The 17mm inner diameter is the bore dimension shown in the catalog drawing. It is not automatically the conductor diameter of every cable identified by a nominal cross-section of 150mm². Conductor construction, strand arrangement and compaction can affect the actual diameter.
