GT-185 copper connecting tube is a straight-through sleeve designed to join two 185mm² copper cable conductors by crimping. According to the catalog, the product has a 24 mm outer diameter, 19 mm inner diameter and 100 mm overall length.
Before installation, verify the cable cross-sectional area and actual conductor diameter against the tube bore, then select a compatible crimping tool and die. Where two cable sections must be joined in line without using a bolted terminal lug, the GT-185 copper connecting tube provides a straight-through crimp connection. The sleeve accepts conductors from both ends and is installed using a suitable mechanical or hydraulic crimping tool. According to the supplied catalog, model GT-185 has a 24 mm outer diameter, 19 mm inner diameter and 100 mm overall length.
This product is a straight cable joint sleeve, not a bolted cable lug. It is therefore intended for joining copper cable to copper cable rather than terminating a conductor directly onto a busbar, MCCB terminal or equipment stud.
What is the GT-185 copper connecting tube used for?
The primary function of GT-185 is to create an in-line joint between two compatible copper cable conductors. Each stripped conductor is inserted from one end of the tube, after which the sleeve is compressed with a suitable crimping tool and die.
The product may be considered for cable extension work, replacement of a damaged cable section or connection of two matching copper conductors. Actual suitability also depends on conductor material, strand construction, conductor diameter after insulation removal and the technical requirements of the electrical system.
